Bluegrass Girls Fastpitch Softball would like to welcome

We would like to express many thanks to White, Greer and Maggard Orthodontics for their sponsorship of Bluegrass Girls Fastpitch Softball league.  Their support of our program will enable us to make all of our programs more affordable for the Central Kentucky girls that want to play softball and help us to meet some of our longer term goals of providing a safe and competitive place for Central Kentucky girls to play fastpitch softball.

Bluegrass Girls Fastpitch Softball provides fast pitch opportunities for all girls ages 4 and up in the Lexington, KY/Bluegrass area. 

Bluegrass Girls Fastpitch Softball defines league age. The current rule defines league age as the player's age on January 1st. For example, next Spring, if a child turns 12 before January 1, 2005, he or she will play in the U-12 league as a 12 year-old. If a child turns 12 on or after January 1, 2005, he or she will play in U-12 as an 11 year-old. Allowing a player to "play up" is strongly discouraged and will only be considered under extenuating circumstances as determined by the Board of Directors. Under no circumstances will a player be allowed to "play down", such as an 11 year old playing U-10 or a 9 year-old playing Rookie.

T-Ball League T-ball league is for 4-6 year old girls showing interest in playing ball. Players hit the ball off the tee. All players get to bat and play the field. The main focus is teaching fundamental skills in catching, throwing, batting, running, fielding and sportsmanship. The league provides a logo hat and shirt and hires an umpire for each game. Rookie League is for 6-8 year-olds just learning to play organized ball. Players hit the ball from a pitching machine and/or coach. All participants get to bat and play in the field. The league provides a league logo hat and shirt and hires an umpire for each game. The season starts in early May. For questions about Rookie League, call Sherri Brown at 948-5544.

U-10 League is for 9 & 10 year-olds and for the experienced 8 year old. This age group utilizes player and coach pitch. There are no more than 10 players in the field each inning. The league provides a league logo hat and shirt and hires umpires for each game. Teams play a regular season schedule followed by a league tournament and All-Star play. U-12 League is for 11-12 year-olds. Players pitch to players. Players in this age group go through try-outs and a draft (10 year olds are permitted to try out for this league, but if undrafted will be returned to the U-10 league). There are 6 U-12 teams with an average of 12 players per team. Once drafted by a U-12 league team, the player remains on that team. The league provides a league logo hat and shirt and hires umpires for each game. Teams play a regular season schedule followed by a league tournament and All-Star play. U-14/16 Leagues:
Spring Session:
Designed for all 13 and 14 year-old players plus 15 and 16 year-old players that are not playing high school ball. This season runs from early April until Memorial Day. The league provides a league logo hat and shirt and hires umpires for each game. Players needing to work on skills will enjoy the spring Session to help prepare for the more competitive Summer session. Summer Session: Designed for player’s ages 13-16 years old wishing to continue competitive play after the High School Season. This season runs from Early June through July. The league provides a league logo hat and shirt and hires umpires for each game. Teams play a regular season schedule followed by a league tournament. This league will have games on every weekend and is NOT designed for the travel ball player. For questions about the U-14/16 Summer League, call Sherri Brown at 948-5544.

Summer Elite League: Designed for teams 13-16 years old and is for travel ball type teams (no weekend games). U-14 and U-16 Teams may enter as complete teams (NOTE: League sponsored Elite Teams will be required to play in weekend tournaments that may be outside the Lexington, KY area). Rosters are unlimited for teams entering as teams and will consist of 12 players on the league-sponsored teams. League sponsored teams will represent the league in the Babe Ruth Tournament trail. Either ASA, NSA or Babe Ruth League rules will be used. The season runs from early June through July. The league provides umpires for each game. U-18 Summer Team League are designed for teams 16 years old and over. Teams enter as complete teams. Rosters are unlimited. Either ASA, NSA or KHSAA rules will be used. (The league may assist individuals in finding teams if possible). The season runs from early June through July. The league provides umpires for each game.
